CREO Lab on cognition and creativity
Our approach
Our team at CREO is interested in how the brain produces original ideas in all areas of life, beyond the arts and sciences. Creativity is part of everyday life — of us!
The cognitive approach applied to the study of creativity focuses on the components of the mind involved in the production of original ideas, such as intuition, cognitive control, memory, and reasoning.
One indicator of a person's creative potential is divergent thinking, that is, the ability to think of alternative solutions to a problem or new perspectives on a situation.
APPLICATION
Join the team
Undergraduate students may get involved in our activities through research internship, a Honours Thesis or as a Research Assistant. These opportunities provide students with research experience, allow them to contribute to ongoing projects, and help them become familiar with the workings of a university research lab.
The laboratory welcomes students enrolled in the doctoral program in psychology, including the research, research-intervention, and intervention profils. The Master’s in Applied Psychological Sciences also offers an opportunity to apply the experimental research methods used in the lab into applied settings.
